Been busting my ass at work in the oilfield for the last 7-8 months. Literally 100 to 110 hour weeks. I've kept my head down and just done my job the best I can. When I've had the rare week off I recharge at home and enjoy every minute of it in peace and quiet.

A couple weeks ago I was pulled into the office and given a raise, the next week a promotion and another raise. My boss said my flexibility and lack of drama were the driving reasons for bumping me up. I never asked for either raise or the promotion. I assure everyone reading this, whether a lurker or member, being a MGHOW is the reason it happened.

The married guys weren't able to change flights, work over, come up early, work with a clear mind, stay focused... be at peace in a volatile environment. It shows and it cost them.

I'm sitting next to a heli pad waiting for the fog to clear and my next set of jobs to start. I hope you guys are doing well and forging your own path.

You are a great example of what it means to be The Independent Man. You make your life the way you want it and find success by not turning it into a living soap opera. Pure gold, Trapper. This is also, in my opinion, why I did well during my time in the military. I put my work ahead of the piece of tail that I can get anywhere. Focus on what matters most, and that is you. You cannot help others until you are first in a good place.

It does. Simple and effective. Having one’s life in order and balanced comes with the benefit of being able to pull these things off, where others cannot compete. Keep on keeping on, guys!

Congratulation!

You're the prime exemple of what a man can accomplish without being chained to a blood-sucking drama-creating woeman. I wish you many more promotions... Don't get MeTooed!

Don't let them blame, shame or tame you!

Kudo's Trapper.  While the work is currently hard, you are obtaining the resources (work reputation, money, work ethic) that will serve you well when you transition into your next job.

You are correct, it comes down to KSA.

Knowledge. You know to focus on work and not allow any drama distract you.  You certainly know how to do your job in a highly satisfactory manner.

Skills. You avoid situations and people that would be a detriment to work.  You also have a great work related skill set at your disposal.

Abilities. You have the ability to concentrate on the important tasks at hand, yet prioritize non-critical tasks for down time.

You ROCK!

Wanted to check in sooner but my signal was a step below 2 tin cups and a string.

The past week in my new position was awesome. The crews I work with now are top notch and I never saw a single disagreement. As for getting #metooed.... I don't work with any woman. At all

It's been 9 years since I've had to work with one. I hope to keep the streak going for a very long time

That is a goal I wish to attain as well.  I need to look into a career change...

Getting choke slammed by a trucker isn't as fun as it looks on TV.  In fact I think I have a bruised pancreas now.  Shit went from bad to worse.

Not working with women!? Dare to dream. My hat goes off to you.

Congratulations brother, you've definitely earned the success. You've worked hard for it.

I can definitely relate to the effect MGTOW has had on your career. The past couple years I've picked up a lot of extra shifts, often in towns 1-2 hours away, in addition to my full time hours. The job I work now is night shifts, 7 on 7 off and 74 hours a week for my weeks on. I'm still not working 100-110 hour weeks like you (holy crap!) but I definitely know what it's like when you're working a lot of hours packed into more than a few days in a row.

For me it would be impossible to do this with a woman living in my home. But without one, it has many advantages. The cash from working all those extra shifts really piles up without a woman adding to my expenses. My time at home between shifts is a lot easier and lower stress too. And finally on my days off I'm completely free to do the things I want to do...even if all I want to do is sit at home and enjoy some peace and quiet.

Of all the advantages to the MGTOW lifestyle, it's the freedom I love the most. You are free to live the lifestyle of your dreams, while still accumulating wealth in a way you never could have dreamed of otherwise. Eventually that wealth can accumulate into an early retirement, which is the best freedom of all.

There isn't a woman on Earth I'd give all that up for.

I hear you, Trapper, and wish you the best of luck!

Unfortunately, there are some chicks directly and indirectly interfering with my work in the field/on the road/on site. They mostly sit in comfy offices and remotely fuck things up. Sometimes it is even so bad, that they get fired, but generally they have to be very messy for months in a row to accomplish that. In practice they do not know, what "we the men" have to do out there. They often enough can only guess as to what gear or knowledge/how much time/how many men are required or needed to get a certain job done, BUT they mostly are too vain to ask someone who actually knows, so they fuck it up by mishandling the case.

It is hilarious when you arrive with a full column of trucks and handymen at the wrong place or at the wrong date, isn´t it? It is unbelievably stupid and costly an affair. But that is only an example. I had (female) architects, who would mess up construction sites so badly, that I might write a book about it, because most of us are unable to imagine stuff like that could actually happen. Well, it does and it is no exeption. That collapsed "feminist" bridge in the US of A spoke to me on more than one level, hence. I feel for the relatives and friends of the victims of that incident.

It is madness on the loose. I had arcitects (females) "ordering" me to do simply impossible things, they would get mad at me "mansplaining" to them the limitations of physics - but they could not make me mad at them. I have seen too many of them behaving in that exact manner. In the very same way.

It has already gotten so old, I cannot really get upset at it, anymore. They are all behaving the same in this situation. They will lie and try to deflect from their own mistakes. They will behave in such a disrespectful and dumb way as to get someone to loose his temper and call them out on it in an angry way.

Then they can turn around and point fingers at someone else´s inapprobiate behavior. It is so boring and unoriginal, all do it the same way; same goes for living with them. They will fuck things up, then they will have the audacity to enrage you on top of that (deliberately adding insult to injury) to make you loose your patience - and then try to blame and shame you for having lost your temper.

I had that madness quite thick, lately, and am planning on leaving this occupation of mine behind and do sth different. Sth more akin to "my dreams". Like Mark Twain has already remarked:

"The more it is a pleasure to you, the better your work will be paid."

Check Matcha.  The constant inability of female supervisors to understand the basic project needs and requirements are made worse when they try to engage subordinates to accomplish the task.
