this is alfredo with bacon you cook before you make the alfredo sauce.

sounds complicated but it's not.

you don't have to make home made pasta,

and just buy grated cheese..

Just try with:

Ham instead of bacon

Goat cheese (hard texture, you'll have to grate it manually)

NO butter milk, use two eggs

An taste what happens...

😉

So:

make it easy on yourself..

add ham in little pieces (do NOT fry),

add two eggs and grated goat cheese,

add cooked pasta.

you got this..!

so i will suggest a great way to make a few meals at once which can be eaten for days

Thanks for posting food related threads again Chef!

Given the cooler temps and rain yesterday, I pulled out the crockpot for a traditional beef stew (Top sirloin beef) and garlic bread.

Full stomach last night and four more meals waiting on me, two in the fridge and two in the freezer.  No reason for not being smart in the kitchen and looking ahead.  Cooking for one vs cooking for one to eat over several days, just too easy.

Excellent! For a guy that loves to cook, you are giving me some fun new recipes to take on. Chili is one of my favorite winter foods.

Chili, Stew, Chicken & Dumplings, Pork Roast, Bread Pudding .... as discussed on another site several times, a crock pot/slow cooker is really your friend.  Especially the newer units and have delayed start and keep warm functions.

Not having one is pretty crazy these days. The food is better, you have exact control over the ingredients and portions, and you are not dependent upon anyone else once you purchase/obtain the raw ingredients.  Add in a modest home garden space ... thats just too good.

BBQ Meat Loaves in Muffin Pan

This is a great recipe to use when you want to make several portions that are already pre-sized for placing in containers for lunch or freezing.  This is a quick recipe to make and bake.  Be prepared, this is a messy recipe given the ingredients so you might want to put some cooking spray on your hands prior to mixing.

Preheat oven to 450 °F and spray a six-cup muffin tin with nonstick cooking spray.

Mix 1 1/4 lb lean (85/15) ground beef, 2/3 cup dry breadcrumbs, 1/2 tsp kosher salt, 1/2 tsp black pepper, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, 1/2 tsp Creole seasoning, 1 LG egg (lightly beaten), 1/4 cup salsa, 2 tsp of Worcestershire sauce,  and 3/4 cup of BBQ sauce in large bowl, gently combine all ingredients using your hands.

Cook about 20 minutes.
Note: While the Creole seasoning will introduce a little heat, the type of BBQ sauce and salsa will give you discretion of raising the heat level significantly as desired.

I was bound to be misunderstood, and I laugh at the idiots who misunderstand me! Kind mockery toward the well-intentioned and unfettered cruelty toward all would-be prison guards of my creative possibilities. In this way I learn to revel as much in misunderstanding as in understanding and take pleasure in worthy opponents. Making language fluid, flowing like a river, yet precise and pointed as a dirk, contradicts the socialistic purpose of language and makes for a wonderful verbal dance—a linguistic martial art with constant parries that hone the weapon that is the two edged sword of my mouth.

this is the BEST meatloaf i ever had.

very easy.

if you have no bread pan just use a cast iron skillet,

form it in to a loaf and surround it with a can of chopped tomato's with some ketchup ..

make it once and eat for days.

I wish I had some exotic recipes.

I have ham, snow peas, carrots, jalapenos, mushrooms, diced tomato and green onions. Put in a frying pan with a little bit of water. Serve on a tortilla or on noodles.

Tonight I am making pork loin medallions and sauerkraut.

The meat was sliced into 1/2" medallions and placed into a one gallon ziplock bag.  I added prime rib rub seasoning, minced garlic, and a splash of Dale's marinade (soy sauce) and mesquite liquid smoke.  Everything is mixed well and is marinated in the fridge for a few hours.

I will plug in the crock pot first, adding the sauerkraut and 1/2 cup of beer.  Today it's a pale ale crafted by a local microbrewery.  As this warms up I will then grab my skillet and lightly sear the medallions in butter and olive oil.  At this point you could also cut baby red potatoes in half and fry/brown them and add it into the mixture as well.  A sliced sweet onion is finally browned in the remaining juices and then at the last second a very little red wine vinegar is added to dilute all the tasty brown bits out of the pan.  Sprinkle a little bit of brown sugar or maple syrup over the top and you are done!

You can cook on low for several hours, or on high for a couple.  As the meat is partially cooked, the total length of time in the crock pot is reduced.  I will let it go slow and low for 6 hours and try not to drool everywhere!

Best Ever Pork Roast and Sauerkraut

Ya wanna know what this thread says to me?

Men are up and running without any assistance or interference from women.

Now maybe women can learn the lessons we learned and start doing their own heavy lifting, maintenance, and overall thinking!(taking care of themselves)

Looks and sounds like we've achieved equality in gender dynamics but not in law, legislation, and statute. We'll gain those equalities after those forces of indifference finally and fatally collapse under their own weight from all the women that continually and endlessly pile on.

I think I see my ex in there. I have tried several of these ideas so far, and it is a great way to try something new. I will be going down the list until I have tried them all most likely.
