I can't go into details but I am getting some Marmite for Xmas.  Genuine Marmite from the UK.

What do I do with it?  I want the full British experience,   what do you recommend?

Get the real stuff, get Vegemite from Australia. Yes it tastes disgusting if you spread it on heavy. Only need a little bit.

I've never eaten Marmite.

People who do just spread it on toast or bread.

It looks like the goo I drained from my 1950 MG crankcase that's been sitting since 1962.

The rocket stove burned it, but only after I thinned it with some kerosene.

I say add some kerosene then spread it on some toast.

Sobieski, if you want  to eat something traditionally British just have a quality roast beef with roast potatoes, carrots, gravy and a Yorkshire pudding.

Eat that on a Sunday.

Interchange the beef for Chicken or a Ham joint -you use a different gravy for chicken and ham to the one you use for beef and you tend not to have Yorkshire pudding with chicken or ham.

Another traditional dish (which is actually very nice when done well) is Lancashire hotpot. Once upon a time they put oysters in because it was cheaper than meat.

Which is one reason why in the centre of M'cr there is the historic old Sinclair's Oyster bar in the historic shambles square (The listed buildings had to be picked up and moved after the 1996 IRA attack)
