I came across this movie review and it peaked my interest.  I really want to see this in a theater!

The movie:  Ford vs. Ferarri.

I am not a huge Ford fan, and the Ferarri F40 was my favorite when in high school, but the back story about Carrol Shelby has me intrigued.

There is nothing pretentious about FVF, no buzzkills, no woke, no lectures, no puffed up sense of self-importance. Which doesn’t mean Mangold doesn’t have a message. Of course he does, and it’s a vital message told through character and theme about being your own man, about not getting chewed up in the corporate collective, about sons and fathers and husbands and wives and friends and chasing the impossible…

This is a message that reminds us about what it means to be a true American.

Buck, you ol´ fossil fuel burning, testosterone driven, beef and craft beer appreciating, finest gun toting, art of living and adrenaline connoisseur, I wish you a great time at the cinema! Please give us a review!

Vrooom, vrooooom!

In my humble opinion that sounds intriguing, only they obviously picked the wrong Ferrari? 😛

LOL great pics Matcha!

I prefer General Motors vehicles over Ford or Dodge.

These days most vehicles are garbage.  They are not built to last, instead engineered to fail and be replaced, not repaired.  Gone are the days a common man can repair his own vehicle.  Today an electrical engineering degree is almost required.

I cannot imagine how vehicles could be manufactured any more fragile, maybe with compressed cardboard?

Sad and true. Compressed cardboard or -why not- spare yourself the detour and straight away go to Camembert cheese and Swedish pickled herings for that matter? Unfortunately the link shows me no video but a black screen at the nbc website.

I remember in the olden days people just had a car, their car. When you saw their car, you´d know it, because it was the same every time.

Over many years. Like when you have a dog, you do not go to the pet shop every other month or year to get a new one. Or take a (good) coat for that matter.

The industry of producing useless crap (women and manginas love to have and show off) that in turn suffocates the environment is godawful business.

To incentivize such behaviors instead of ruling them out and ostracizing them surely is the madness, hybris and downfall of mankind.

When you own a Ford, you need to have a backup plan:

Make it two!

I would like to see a movie about the races held every year on the Island of Man.

Anthony Hopkins was spectacular in the movie "The World's Fastest Indian".  The true story is about New Zealander Burt Munro (Sir Anthony Hopkins), who spent years rebuilding a 1920 Indian motorcycle, which helped him set the land speed world record at Utah's Bonneville Salt Flats in 1967.

The movie:  Ford vs. Ferarri.

IMDB listed the below quote:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Carroll Shelby How long have we known each other, Champ? Did I ever break a promise to you? I will put you in the driver's seat at Le Mans if you just shut your mouth and let me do my thing.

[Miles raises his eyebrows, then punches Shelby in the face]

Carroll Shelby All right.

[Shelby tackles Miles and they fight while Mollie unfolds a chair and watches]

Mollie Miles Morning, Shelby.

[Shelby and Miles stop the fight and grab some bottles of Coke]

Carroll Shelby Good morning, Mollie.

[Miles toasts Shelby]

Ken Miles Up yours.

Carroll Shelby Oh, go to hell.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If this is indicative of the writing, this will be indeed be fast paced, visually and verbally.  Thanks for the heads up.

Check, the Internet age brought about the age of immediate obsolescence and sparked the current Global Economy don't you know.   Deming and others are  assuredly turning over in their graves, rapidly I might add.

Gee, the conversion from USD to Shekel must be enormous if you are only planning on spending $4.00 ... unlike other things that might get mentioned after this post!!! 🤣 😯

@pistolpete

In L.O., it's either $8.10 for a senior ticket, or $8.33 for an adult.  Sorry, you just look too old to pass as a child ($7.57).

Just means that you'll have to skip a drive thru or three to afford the "in theatre experience".  This flick might be worth the trip however, they say that the track scenes are awesome.
