It's okay to be a little envious, Tower. I admit to feeling that way sometimes too when I see the live steamers chugging along. I like steam power from the tiny propane and alcohol powered garden steam the British have all the way up to the Tier 1 railroad's steam locomotives, like UP's department. I also appreciate the men who film these machines and post the many U tuber videos.

we invented the steam engine to pump water in 1698

The first steam locomotive, made by Richard Trevithick, first operated on 21 February 1804 in Great Britain.

Really? We were a transcontinental no man's land in 1698!

We did a pretty good fucking job catching up in only 300 years!

Except here, where I live, it's reverted back to 1492 and still going back in time!

And it wasn't my fault this time (for replacing my lineal warp capacitor without turning off the time selector), as far as any temporal anomalies thereafter that may or may not have happened are not my fault!

I reserve the right to remain silent!

We're not much on trains anymore, however, civil and commercial aviation we've gone the highest, fastest, and more passenger service from anywhere to anywhere via transcontinental international airports constructed coast to coast and abroad!

I wouldn't mock trains, in Japan and parts of Europe trains are quicker than going by planes.

Plus -think about it -Airports are rarely in the centre of town are they?

Train stations often are.

so often the plane is not the quickest method.

The flight time from Manchester to London, Heathrow is 1 hour 5 minutes. Add in all the time taken for security etc and then remember that Heathrow is 16 miles form the centre of London. How long do you want to sit not moving on the A4  & M4 for...

Train from M'cr Picadilly to London Euston is 2 hours 1o minutes-Euston is in central London.

M'cr airport is 8 miles form central M'cr in  a vehicle at the wrong time of day that could take you over 1 and a half hours or more.

Flight time Heathrow to Paris 1 hour 15 minutes -ad don security time etc and the 16 mile journey out of London to Heathrow on the A & M 4 -good luck with that bredrin.

London Waterloo station to Paris (through the tunnel) 2 hours 35 minutes.

Charles de Gaulle airport is 34km from the centre of Paris.

Concorde, Airliner, Aircraft, Brooklands, Museum, Jet

That's Concorde by the way.

British Airways, Speedbird, Britishairways, Boeing

Travel, Transport System, Sky, Sea, British Airways

You really need to spend some money on JFK airport by the way -what a dump-Heathrow is far better and quicker to pass through.

Even M'cr airport is nicer than JFK -and it's vastly over capacity as the 3rd busiest in the UK after LondonHeathrow, & London,Gatwick hence why we are spending billions it.

New York is a shithole compared the the western U.S.

Many parts of Alaska can only be navigated by aircraft, trains don't climb snow capped peaks, bush jumpers land in undeveloped valleys on river rock gravel banks or pontoon planes on rivers and lakes.

Besides, trains come off the tracks when they go too fast!

Have you now, what passenger plane did you have that went faster than Concorde?

Concorde's max speed was Mach 2.04

Did that with 128 people on board eating qaules eggs and drinking Bolinger

That's not a civilian passenger plane is it though ,it's military.

So what civilian plane did you have or currently that went faster than Concorde?

You stated that you had gone faster in commercial civilian aviation-that's what I'm questioning.

Boom is still under development so doesn't count and will only seat 55 people, we had 128 people doing over mach 2 in 1976

I got news for you, we had supersonic aspirations that were in the design stage but the entire plan was scrapped after several tests were conducted over civilian territory, everything from waking people up to broken windows were reported from the tests and resulting sonic booms, it was the U.S. that put the cabochon on that plan after discovering the practicality of living happily under the sonic boom and its damaging effects.

My apologies for leaving out "military" from civil and commercial, my mistake, however, we're proven right, only because there's no more supersonic passenger service from anywhere to anywhere. It's a dead horse! That pony don't trot anymore!

We broke the sound barrier in 1947 and surpassed it more than triple. Now we have civilian space agencies designing and building all sorts of new stuff!

I know that - aspirations don't count.

We had supersonic aspirations that were in the design stage but the entire plan was scrapped after several tests were conducted over civilian territory, everything from waking people up to broken windows

Some people in the USA tried to stop Concorde for that exact same reason.

The reason it doesn't fly anymore is it used too much fuel which was why it never went further than The east coast of USA.

It was only for very rich business people who needed to go to New York -took 3 hours instead of 7 hours 30 mniutes. some people saved up just to say they had been on it.

Have to spend 7 hours 30 minutes on a 747 400 now-just about bearable in business -economy fcuck that shit - imagine they will replace them with 777 , 787 or Airbus A380s before long.  They use A380 for Los Angeles.

British, British Airways, Airline

We are currently developing Tempest to replace the bag of shit F35s we bought.

Union Jack, Flag, Union Flag, Royal Flag
