Time to get away from another selective narrative on an age-old issue that is pervasive throughout Government.

Whether you are a civil servant or a politician, anyone holding public office has an ulterior motive for life outside of work.

Mayors, City Council and County Commissioners, Governors, State Officials, National Representatives, ALL seek these positions for two reasons. The first is Hubris.  The second is to increase their personal net worth.  Notoriety, business connections, contracts, it's all semantics and a matter of timing.  During office or afterwards, money from stocks or business ventures, writing books or for profit speaking tours, they all pander to special interests ... THEIR OWN!

President Trump is not rare in that he came from the business world and has significant financial interests and business resources.  Harding (R), Hoover (R), Carter (D), Bush I (R) and Bush II (R) all had successful business careers prior to becoming POTUS.  Any amount of research into the 20+ Democratic candidates for the DNC nomination will quickly show substantial involvement from individuals, companies and organizations.

Politicians always seek to profit from holding office.  For themselves, as well as their constituents; always!  Influence-buying and positional profiteering are the name of the game.

This is what the political process is all about.  It's always been about quid pro quo.  A favor in return for something.

The President's staff are doing him a disservice by not having him cooperate with the House of Representatives.  Show that the President was was conducting business as usual and that VP Biden was as well.  Then watch Biden's support base crumble, with it will go the only DNC candidate with any chance to defeat Trump in 2020.  The remaining DNC candidates will turn upon each other and  drive anyone who wants to hears logic and facts away.
