So Vice-President Biden finally announced his candidacy, but in doing so has made the likelihood that President Trump will win in 2020 greater than ever.

How so you may ask?

The race within the DNC until this point has been about personal issues and not about politics.  This was disastrous enough, however you now have a political candidate involved who has the best political credentials for victory in 2020.

The primary race continues to be about convincing voters that only one candidate is capable of fixing a specific social issue, and that candidate will have to become the "King of the Mountain" for that specific issue.  After doing so, they will have to attack the next issue to add to their portfoio. With the exception of Senator Sanders, all other candidates have focused on social issues without specifying political processes for obtaining them, or claiming affiliation with select social groups and not identifying issues.

The luxury of being the primary candidate for a political party is that you only have to focus on political issues and realities, social issues are known and endorsed as that parties political platform.

Biden's issues however are the issues of the DNC, too many candidates are running and the National Conference will be where the ultimate winner will eventually be named. Ego will keep each other candidate in the race far too long, ultimately making the over all party pick less prepared to begin reuniting the DNC, and then, to begin a cohesive candidacy for the presidential election.  Biden's job of convincing the DNC that he is their solution will be delayed and ultimately mired in the DNC's obsession with convincing voters that a subset of issues is more important that the overall DNC politial platform

As long as the President's Campaign committee keeps their message about politics and away from social issues, it will remain very difficult to lose in 2020.

Look, there is so much hate in the Democrat part towards White people and Men in general that I find it more than a little ironic that Biden hasn't been lynched already for merely existing.

The fun will come during the debates and the resultant aftermath.

The main difference is that he is not hitched to the "Hill".  I agree however, the utter destruction of the DNC for years to come may be at hand.

This should be fun! Tell me is Hillary going to try again? Or is her fear of Trump putting her in her rightful place keeping her away?

I generally agree with GregBo's analysis. Biden has correctly deduced that mainstream liberal democrats are unhappy with the socialist radicalization of their party and its flagrant anti-Americanism. This is why the "#leave" movement got started in the first place. Biden must have indicated to democrat party insiders that he intended to run as an old style mainstream candidate, and this fact I suspect is what started the sexual accusation avalanche a few weeks ago; it was an internal effort to sabotage his campaign before it was launched. Notice how all of that "stuff" is now completely totally absent from the media...gee wonder how/why that happened.

So Biden's plans to present himself as the lone "sane" democratic candidate while all the others are going to be involved in a competition to see who can move the furthest left; who can be the MOST radical...we're already seeing signs of this with O'Rourk suggesting he would spend Trillions on climate change BS, Warren arguing for student debt forgiveness, and "pete" arguing it is time for the first out-of-closet gay to be in the White House. Going radical left keeps the bottom 20% of the democrat base happy but what about the average democrat, and the undecided voter? Are they going to get behind the "wealth tax", or open borders, or free college, or free health care for all, or abortion AFTER live birth? Except for the fringe the answer is no.

Biden must have intimated that he was not going to buy all in with the radical elements of his own party hence their now foiled effort to cull his candidacy through sex claims. Rather he has made the same sort of shrewd calculation country club RINOs have been making for years. RINOs hate the conservative base of the republican party but they have calculated that in a general election the base will support a RINO simply because there is no alternative. Biden has made a similar calculation. His socialist base may dislike him and regard him as no radical enough but whom else do they have to vote for. They will vote for Biden in a general election like him or not.

One thing is for sure, Trump has my vote when the next election comes around.

I would offer that she realizes that she has lost the respect and support of the hive and knows that another candidacy would end in mockery. Look at all the younger, more socially aligned females that are represented the DNC.

She is sitting on the porch and watching all the traffic go by, but I'm sure that another ghost-written bock will be out soon about 2016 and the "could have been" 2020 elections.

Check T.E.G. and the election will be decided by how many Dems do not decide to vote for him and how many GOPS stay the course.

Check but as TEG surmised, the DNC needed to field on mainstream candidate to ensure that all the Dem moderates did not become GOP members permanently.

I was admiring how much I love that Donald Trump is a asshole and that he is our President, I found this video on YouTube. This is why I love him.

AH yes and GregBo slams the nail on the head with a sledge hammer. For the President to win Ohio, Penn, Indiana, and Wisc. in the last go around in 2016 a lot of dems had to jump ship and they did it because of JOBS. Sure its fun to parade around screaming about the "evils" of America but at the end of the day no job means no income, and no income means...welcome to the street. Here is an interesting aside: according to a recent poll college students do not think "Bernie" is not radical enough--so where does that leave Biden?

Peddling as hard and as fast as he can to pick up the working middle class that the DNC lost in 2016.  If he can, then he does not have to worry about the 20 something dregs who want everything served on a platter that will not vote for him regardless.

I believe that his strategy really is as simple as it seems. Stay in the race, make it through the convention and then hope that the DNC party and the media begin scaring voters his way.

The old days were simple: one candidate to represent the party in the general election, one candidate to be the fall guy for the party, and one to serve as a national sounding board during the primaries for new non-party ideas that are questionable, but that need to be thrown to the wind for testing prior to public endorsment.

I can see the campaign already, "A vote for Biden, is a vote Lovin, Touchin, Squeeezin."

This is the official campaign song.

Hitlary has her hand up Biden's skirt, running him like a giant finger puppet.

This whole Democratic nomination shitshow will turn out like the drinking game "shit on your neighbor".

In the end they all will smell like Vick's Vap-o-rub and liqueur.

Check Old Buck.  The more the candidates post regarding thier individual views, the greater the reality that the DNC will suffer a critical fracturing that will take several election cycles to heal.  The long and short is that the middle class will be the battle ground for both sides for the next ten year.

Not the gender issues. Not the LGBTQ issues. Not the race issues. Not the climate issues. Not the ethical government issues.

Plain and simple, average Joe and Martha will be the battle ground.  Their children and grandchildren are too busy looking after their self interested slice of the world at the moment and will become a force in 2030.
