I've always been in awe of these men who sacrificed themselves in these mass produced death traps. A tip of the hat to all tankers. (12:52)

German 88s' punched holes in them like butter! The sheer number of Sherman tanks overwhelmed the Germans like a cricket on an ant hill! You were safer outside than inside!
I watched this about a week ago, it was very sobering. Hy-test aviation gas, thin armor, German 88s = Lots of graves
They refitted most of those tanks that got shot up. Men had to get in there and clean all that offal up. I pity those men for what they saw and smelled.
Check CPig and Tower. The harsh reality is that you don't need to have the best, as long as you have the most.
More Men vs better weapons. The Men win as long as the weapon system is not a military paradigm shift.

The movie "Fury" I recommend it to anyone that likes war movies! I purchased it about a month ago and saw it for the first time. Very well done! The kind of movie you remember!
this vehicle was a series of compromises mostly based on logistics. this vehicle was the maximum size that could be placed on trains, lifted by cranes and driven on roads. The next tank, M6 required special cranes, certain ships and too large for railroad cars. Sherman could be driven on most bridges in US and Europe.

Sherman tanks had more than one power plant by more than one manufacturer. Here's the specs.
