One reason why wars are fought using new technologies according to the tactics and strategies of the last conflict.

Good thing this was obviously a training accident, else these would be two VERY EASY targets.

Hell of a way to "combat loss" your Raybans and ACH.  Effective none the less and ensures that one knows the threat environment without popping your head up like a "Wack-a-mole" game.

Interesting that there is a Barrett .50 BMG on the floor ready for counter-fire operations.

I lost a pair of special glasses due to an impact during an explosion. Really liked those. I didn't think about that until you pointed that out though. Hmm, might have to consider an alternative pair if I were to do this, Ha!

Check Uly,  I was able to keep all my military uniform accessories, not that I really use them, and it is great comfort to know that I have them if I need them.

The military PPE gear was really top notch ... I do miss the gloves!

If something can go wrong, it will and usually at the worst time.”  Having the best protective gear available and ready is the key to ensuring that Murphy does not hurt as much when it does strike.

I'll bet you a bit coin that I don't have that there's a home team player looking at anyone who is looking at this display.  One shot, lights out.

So, was there really a Murphy associated with Murphy's Law?  ["Anything that can go wrong will go wrong"]

Oh yes indeed.  MAJ Edward A. Murphy, Jr was an US Military Academy graduate who served in the US Army (Air Corps) from 1940 thru 1947 as an aerospace engineer, combat pilot and later transferred into the US Air Force from 1947 until 1952.  He served in the Pacific Theater, India, China and Burma.

After joining the Air Force, he became the R&D Officer at Wright Patterson Air Force Base and became involved in high-speed rocket sled projects, most notable the MX981 which led to the creation of Murphy's LawDefensive Design where "One should ALWAYS assume worst-case scenarios".

He resigned from the US Air Force in 1952 and began working as a private contractor on crew escape systems for a few "famous aircraft":

The F-4 Phantom II,

XB-70 Valkyrie,

Lockeed A-12

/ SR-71 Blackbird,

B-1 Lancer

and X-15.

In the 60's he worked on safety and life support system for "Project Apollo" and ended his career working on pilot safety and computerized operation systems for the AH-64 Apache helicopter.

An outstanding military professional, engineer and forward thinker.

There are of course other sides to this discussion and they may be found at:
