I started out at MGTOW.com and had a great time, I learned and grew the most there. I met some really great guys there and started on zoom because of it. After some problems there I transitioned for a very short time  to GYOW.com and really don't have much to say about them good or bad. After that the TIM site was created and I was all in. Along with Reddit MGTOW things were good, TIM was getting off the ground and still is and all my friends came to TIM.  Recently things are a bit off in my opinion with TIM when we have 80 pages of cat pictures. Is this where I need to be? Is this where my friends need to be? I'm a member of a forum that 1/4 to 1/3 of all posts are cat pictures, maybe I should join a spinster forum to see cat pictures? Anyone else tired of this?

Yeah, the point has been made with the cat pics. It really is beating a dead horse.

Time to move along.

If every thread was "littered" with cat pics I would agree with you OldSchool.

So far it has been limited to only a couple threads.

The shenanigans and running joke has stayed true to that one thread.  I think that takes great restraint, as it could bleed over to other more serious topics.

I get your point and I don't want to see every thread about a place I left behind myself.

For some, that is part of their need to heal, to get the anger and pain out by talking about it.

Is this the place for you, for us, for me?  Absolutely.  Here we can vent, let out frustration, and also seek help with our friends.  How many web sites are designed to help men?  Not many.

We need more topics related to improving our own lives.  That would dilute the post ratio between comedy and men's help.

Hey Hitman, wanna start a cat meat market with me?

At first we'll have to go black market in the Asian communities and slowly gain acceptance in the mainstream!

I'll handle marketing the meat, you can handle the pelts, between the both of us, WE'LL MAKE A KILLING!

I heard that the pelts are quite popular on Kansas craigslist listings.  Seriously, cat fur is not the best fur to use.

We should realize that the owner(s) of that web site has chosen to run it in that way.   This needs to be accepted and left be.

Yea man, fur sucks! Leather is better!

Is there a way we can tan the hides, loosing all the hair, and make cat leather?

I've read that the skin is too thin for decent leather and that the fur detaches easily.  The meat is the most desirable part in some cultures.

What about 5-ply with some 3-M spray contact cement holding the layers together?

Keep up with the times! They build EVERYTHING that way!

I agree with Oldschool.

I mentioned this site on Reddit several times. I had three people tell me that it looks like this is just the same group of spammers posting cat pics. It was embarrassing. I won't do it again.

We could move the couple threads to the shadow room, then the general public won't be able to see our comedic shenanigans.

Great thread OldSchool.  Always looking to improve ones situation is a great character trait.

So do I.

Robust discussion is to be encouraged (robust does not mean throwing names at people because you disagree) but the mindless cat picture posting is something I can do without much like the old tuna hunts.

Although it does trouble me when those who make very little if any contribution criticise the contribution made by others.

Be the change in the world you want to see.

Oldschool & Watcher - I am expecting Threads that are nothing short of works of brilliance from both of you within the next 24 hours.

There must be stories from your career as a firefighter you can share that demonstrate TIM principles.

(That statement is 100% objective and in no way motivated by any previous disagreements that may or may not have occurred over the last two years).

Thank you.

I understand not participating in the less serious threads, but calling for their removal? Fuck that.

Everyone is here of their own volition & free to say what they want, so long as it's not injurious to others or inciting violence, I am okay with it, even when I don't like it or agree with it.

If having a 70 page thread of cat pictures is injurious to the forums or it's participants, removing it would be considerably worse as far as I am concerned. That thread is a testament to these boards tolerance & deleting it would be doing a disservice to us all. Moving it to a private section I could understand but tossing it down the memory hole would be straight up Orwellian.

When there are threads I don't like I just don't contribute to them. It's not uncommon, however I am free to have unpopular opinions here, so I respect others' right to do the same.

"Events beyond our control have no power to disgrace us. Only our own decisions and the actions we freely choose to perform can bring us disgrace or honor." -William O. Stephens

This kind of policing, which appears to have good intentions can have a chilling effect, and that's not good:

The point is with all the efforts being made to squelch free speech, this is the last place I expected to find more. Furthermore it is hardly independent to police the content of other posters or care about the opinions of strangers online. If people on Reddit don't like it over here, cool, I don't like it over there that is why I stopped frequenting that establishment.

This came up on the first page when I searched for spinster forums:

I'm dying over here. Fun is right.

This was the only actual Spinster Forum I could find though:

Spinster Forum.JPG

Maybe someone should build a proper spinster forum, why not W.I.T.C.H.?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Women%27s_International_Terrorist_Conspiracy_from_Hell

Women's International Terrorist Conspiracy from Hell, shortened W.I.T.C.H., was the name of several related but independent feminist groups active in the United States as part of the women's liberation movement during the late 1960s. The name W.I.T.C.H. was also sometimes expanded as "Women Inspired to Tell their Collective History", "Women Interested in Toppling Consumer Holidays", and many other variations.

https://womengoingtheirownway.wordpress.com/ doesn't even have working links. That's no fun.

Women Inspired to Tell their Collective History is my favorite acronym, although Spinster Forums sounds nice too. The lengthy thread that's being referred to mixes comedy with serious discussion. The sense of humor involved isn't to everyone's liking. Maybe the serious discussions between the funny posts isn't either. Reading through this thread, I notice that little is said about the discussion on that thread and much is said about the silly pictures. Why is that?
