Another example of why women cannot attract a man

In Dec 2019, A Japanese magazine advised women to compliment men on their intelligence by saying “You sound like Socrates” whenever the man said something complicated, or something that the woman did not understand.   “JJ”, a major fashion magazine targeted at young women, encouraged readers to compare men to the classical Greek philosopher when they say something complicated.

A picture of the page sparked mirth when it was shared on Twitter -- with some users noting that Socrates did not live happily ever after, as he was sentenced to death by drinking poison.  Users of both genders poured scorn on the technique to attract men, with one saying: “If a woman told me I sound like Socrates, I would wonder if she’s sane.”  Socrates has been credited with the famous remark: “By all means, marry. If you get a good wife, you will be happy. If you get a bad one, you will be a philosopher."

The tips were based on a comic book by a female manga artist, the magazine said, playing on a popular trope where women compliment men and feign stupidity.

I personally would be insulted by this comparison as Thales of Miletus, Empedocles or Aristotle had a greater impact upon philosophy, IMHO! 😎

Almost as bad as "OK BOomer."

Perhaps they were going for satirical?

I think Dilbert has complimenting females down.

I'm trying to write this as filisofically as I can. I've noticed that Woe-is-me-men never really go full out to compliment me but merely use the "cancellation affect" on me. That being said I did once hear the cancellation affect once delivered, in an appraisal write up, by a man. He was the Manager of me at the time. It went along the lines of. -

"%my name% does everything required of him but nothing more." I true example of giving it and taking it away in one sentence = The Cancellation Affect.

Back to the point. I have been told before, by femfarthards, that I am "quite intelligent" and "quite good". I might be splitting hairs here but IMO if 'quite' is inserted before an attempted complimentary word it diminishes the compliment to just a comment as though coming from a person who thinks they have the superior experience to judge your abilities. This has been my experience with them all along. You know, "Things that make you go umm". They will tell you how you are too, as if you are unaware of how you actually feel yourself. I remember my first r_shit very vividly. I began to wonder if I actually needed my own brain because my opinion was of no use whatsoever. Any idea I had wasn't half as important as hers. I'm just remembering changing a light pull and my the then girlfriend instructing me! The alarm bells were deafening loud then I can tell you. The experience was invaluable though. Not sure if I have gone off topic again but hey, it came out.

Go Roy.

This is basically the Japanese version of propaganda. Rather than making multi-million dollar "woke" movies encouraging socialism, leftism, and feminism, they are putting their propaganda into manga and anime. The goal in the west is to destroy the family unit, destroy our cultural heritage, and create a totalitarian socialist/welfare state. But in Japan they are trying to do basically the opposite and reverse a demographic crisis; namely fertility rates hitting rock bottom, the herbivore movement, an aging population set to retire very soon, and an economy that has been stagnant for decades due to the same central bank fiat currency mistakes we are now seeing in the west on a massive scale.

In Japan, something like 60-70% of men are "herbivores" which is sort of like their version of MGTOW. These are men who do not date, marry, have children, or pursue relationships. Additionally, many of them do not pursue careers either, or if they do they just work the bare minimum required. This is in a culture where they literally have a word for "working yourself to death" (Karoshi) and it is a common cause of death. At least it was...

Basically the expectation for men over there is that you find a job right out of high school, work for that company putting in 80-100+ hour work weeks for life, and get married and start a family. Japanese married men must literally hand over their entire paychecks to their wives, and the wife gives them an "allowance" which is typically just barely enough to eat out a few times a week with their work colleagues, which is also something they are expected to do. Their work culture is even worse than here in the west...way worse. Their entire life revolves around it.

It's no wonder most of their men are opting out. Their women are also famous for the same type of hypergamous behavior as western women, as well as racking up triple digit body counts in the city and completely cutting their husbands off from sex forever as soon as they get a baby. So the government thinks if they insert romance themes into manga and anime, as well as encourage women to try to flatter beta slave men, it will somehow help with their demographic crisis. Even if the women wanted those beta slaves (they don't, they want to whore around and ride the cock carousel just like Western women do) there's no way the men will go for it over there just because those women compliment them occasionally.

I would be paying close attention to Japan, as there are many parallels there to what is happening in the entire western world, and this is one of the many ways they are "ahead" of us. If you think 60-70% of men going MGTOW is unrealistic, again...look at Japan. Personally, I believe it will be inevitable, in about 10 years or so most men in the west will be MGTOW whether they are aware of the acronym or not. Men do not just blindly follow whatever script is set before them; they tend to look at their environment and make rational decisions accordingly.

This is why MGTOW will never be stopped, no matter how they try to attack or censor us. Unless they try to bring back slavery, they cannot force us to act against our own self-interests, which men are quickly learning to prioritize over women and society. It's not even a matter of principle at this point; it's a matter of simple survival.

I've always been more of a fan of Cicero or Marcus Aurelius--I'm with GregBo on this one. Socrates was under a conditional death penalty. If he wanted to live all he had to do was accept exile from Athens--which of course meant admitting he was wrong about the underlying issue well rather than admit error and just leave he did the womanish thing and decided upon DRAMA.

And yes Japan is the canary in the coal mine. The birth rate in Japan and South Korea is no so low it is impossible to overcome or even equal the death rates. Which means they are doomed. I saw an article the other day--can't find it now---about some super rich Japanese guy who is suppose to be one of the first civilians in space and he is unmarried. So they were having some kind of dating contest among the women to see who would get to date this guy--over 20,000 applied. Compare this to the video that made the rounds last year featuring ONE Japanese girl surrounded by like 40 guys. As they fail her dating criteria they leave the circle and in the end no one is left.

Its an interesting compare and contrast.

OK I guess what I said about Socrates wasn't fair. For his actions/suicide to be REALLY womanish he would have faked it--blamed his problems on someone else and split the scene. So the fact he went through with it isn't womanish. SORRY 😥 😥 😥

I was thinking just this, while reading your post. Females will stop at nothing for a few more moments of attention and gazes... ..and females wonder why we don't take them seriously.

When an interaction with a Western woman begins, try to figure out the answers to these questions within two minutes:

1.  What does she want from me?

2.  Does she intend to bring anything of real value into my life?

3.  Is she a safe person to have in my life?

You will discover that:

1.  A great many are self-centered and selfish and have no intention of bringing anything good into your life.

2. You will often pay a terrible price for interacting with quite a few of the ones who can bring something of real value into your life.

You will also discover that you will want:

1.  Your interactions with many women to be quite short.

2. No interaction at all with more than a few of them.

3. Healthy boundaries between you and many of them.

This isn't misogyny. This is just common sense when dealing with a problematic group of human beings.
